What Absolver does is unique and, for the most part, works pretty well. By giving players an extended level of control, Absolver makes near-endless room to create whatever kind of playstyle you want. It constantly gives each player something to improve on and work towards.
As a lame little side-effect to how many variables there are in combat, your specific moveset and playstyle aren’t ever really good enough, and for some it may end up feeling like they’re not getting any better.
Because of that, it’s not a game for everyone. But in the right hands, its concepts could be used to create one hell of an interesting fighter.
